Re: OPRA Request Re. Administrative Pay Raises

Dear Ms. Wilson Harley:

CWA Local 1081 submits, for your esteemed edification, the attached copy of the June 5, 2008 OPRA (Open Public Records Act) request our Union has today submitted, via fax, to Al Fusco, Custodian of Records for the County of Essex, in which we state “CWA Local 1081 respectfully requests the County of Essex provide our Union documentation that will indicate if any pay raises have been provided any members of the Administration, and/or any Constitutional officers, for, and/or within, the year 2008”.

Inasmuch as our Union continues to diligently negotiate in good faith with the Administration for our successor contract, and inasmuch as Essex County Executive DiVincenzo has been oft publicly quoted asserting there shall be no pay increases afforded any of his Administration’s unrepresented employees until that time the County’s negotiations with its Unions have been resolved, CWA Local 1081 seeks to assuage all concerns our members harbor in that regard.

Sincerely,

David H. Weiner, President
CWA Local 1081
