Dear Ms. Page-Hawkins:
CWA Local 1081 submits this Step II Class Action Contractual Grievance to protest the reported fact that your administration has failed to have conducted annual performance appraisals of most of the employees of the Essex County Division of Family Assistance and Benefits-Formerly Division of Welfare both years 2015 and 2016.
Attached, please find a copy of Article XIV. Performance Evaluation System of CWA Local 1081’s contract with the County of Essex wherein the purposes for, and the procedures how, the Performance Appraisals are intended are both delineated. Section IV. Eligibility of Article XIV. Performance Evaluation System notes that the Performance Appraisal System relates to the annual step increases (increments) due eligible employees as well as an annual day off for those eligible employees at the maximum of their title’s range
The resolution CWA Local 1081 respectfully consists of the following:
1. You shall direct your applicable titular managerial and supervisory operatives to ensure performance appraisals have been conducted for all of the members of CWA Local 1081 for the years 2015 and 2016.
2. You shall direct that those members of CWA Local 1081 eligible for an increment within 2016 are paid same immediately.
3. You shall direct that those members of CWA Local 1081 eligible for a day off within 2016 are afforded same upon the employees’ request.
