Re: Step II Class Action Contractual Grievance
Dire Dearth of Health and Safety Committee Meetings
Article I. Purpose
Article XXV. Non-Discrimination
Article XXII. Health & Safety
Dear Ms. Guarini:
CWA Local 1081 submits this Step II Class Action Contractual Grievance on behalf of our Union’s members to protest the fact that you’ve not held any Joint Professional and Clerical Health and Safety Committee meetings.
A slew of seriously hazardous happenstances have haunted the employees and clients of the Essex County Division of Welfare for an unacceptable amount of time. Overcrowded client waiting rooms in violation of Newark Fire Department occupancy regulations; thousands of clients’ case files strewn upon the floors of both the Medicaid office and the Food Stamp office representing tripping and toppling threats for employees and clients alike; dangerous parking lots provided employees to entrust their personal vehicles, etc.
The resolution CWA Local 1081 respectfully demands to this grievance consists your expeditiously scheduling a Health and Safety Committee meeting with our Union.
Sincerely,
David H. Weiner, President, CWA Local 1081
