Copies of Email Messages Re. Administration's Events
Dear Mr. Fusco:
CWA Local 1081 respectfully submits this Open Public Records Act (OPRA) request our Union be provided a copy of all email messages, including their respective email addresses and the names of their recipients, sent by Anna J. Santos, Assistant/Scheduler on behalf of Essex County Executive Joseph DiVincenzo requesting the presence of County employees at the following events:
-
"You are cordially invited to attend a press conference where we will open the Sea Lion Sound Exhibit at Essex County Turtle Back Zoo. Scheduled to help us dedicate this amazing exhibit will be Governor Chris Christie. Sea Lion Sound is the largest exhibit developed in Turtle Back’s history, and features an 82,000-gallon pool for sea lions and a 1,600-gallon touch tank for sting rays, along with space for education programs and special events." This event took place on April 10, 2013 at the Essex County South Mountain Recreation Complex, Essex County Turtle Back Zoo, 560 Northfield Avenue, West Orange, NJ.
- "You are cordially invited to attend a press conference where we will outline plans to construct a new addition onto the Essex County Newark Tech school building to house a Technology Enhanced Active Learning (TEAL) Center. This new space will feature an open, flexible and highly adaptable lab to teach technology and act as a new home-base for self-motivated students. The TEAL Center is another example of how the Essex County Vocational Technical School District is infusing cutting edge technology into the classroom so students continue to be challenged and prepared for a variety of emerging professional careers. Scheduled to join us at this announcement is Governor Chris Christie. With his support, the State of New Jersey is providing 90 percent reimbursement for the costs to develop this ambitious project." This event took place on May 7, 2013 at Essex County Newark Tech, 91 West Market Street, Newark, NJ.
- "You are cordially invited to attend a press conference where we will announce plans to develop the first-ever senior residence facility in Belleville. The $18 million project includes the construction of 137 units on township-owned property and unused railroad property, and will create a vibrant senior citizen complex when paired with the adjacent senior center building. This historic development would not be possible without the public-partnership formed between Governor Chris Christie and the State of New Jersey, the County of Essex, the Township of Belleville and the Mill Street Urban Renewal LLC." This event took place on May 29, 2013 at the Belleville Senior Center, 125 Franklin Avenue, Belleville, NJ.
Yours truly,
David H. Weiner, President
