Re: OPRA Request
Roman Security Agency Contract

Dear Mr. DiVincenzo:

CWA Local 1081 respectfully submits this Open Public Records Act (OPRA) request our Union be provided the following by your Administration:

  1. A copy of the two-year contract awarded the Roman Security Agency, on December 19, 2012 in the amount of $1,034,030.76, to provide security for the Essex County Division of Welfare offices located within the privately-owned 10 Park Place/18 Rector Street, Newark site.
  2. All documentation explaining the ostensibly disparate detail that while the attached "Addendum Bid File #12-142 Private Security Services for the Essex County Division of Welfare" of September 4, 2012 states that the "Existing contract was awarded for two-years at a total of $856,330.80 (for the two years)", the above cited amount of the contract was in actuality $1,034,030.76 representing an increase of $177,699.96. It is our Union's understanding that the cost of the contract, including its apparently increased cost, will be borne by the budget of the Essex County Division of Welfare therefore very possibly denying our agency $177,699.96 that could be dedicated for direly-needed funding for staff.

CWA Local 1081 thanks you, in advance, for your anticipated expeditious cooperation with this sincere supplication you provide us the information we seek.

Yours truly,

David H. Weiner, President, CWA Local 1081
