Re: Resolution #10

Transfer of GA/SNAP Clients to 18 Rector Street

       Paucity of Parking Provision

Dear Mr. DiVincenzo:

CWA Local 1081 respectfully remits this missive to inform you that your Administration's proposed plan to lease the fourth floor of the privately-owned 10/Park Place/18 Rector Street, Newark site in order to transfer the employees, functions and client recipients of Newark and Irvington General Assistance (GA) and SNAP (Food Stamps) from the County-owned 50 South Clinton Street, East Orange site is at this moment fatally flawed.

As your proposal is currently constituted, as contained within Resolution #10 and listed upon this evening's agenda for the public meeting of the Essex County Board of Chosen Freeholders, there exists within the proposed lease no provision for parking spaces for the employees whom shall be transferred to the 10 Park Place/18 Rector Street, Newark site.

Please expeditiously ensure the resolution is amended, for its consideration by the Freeholders for their approval, to include the provision of parking for the above cited employees of the Essex County Division of Welfare.

Sincerely,

David H. Weiner, President
