Re: Step II Contractual Grievance
Charisma Jackson, FSW
Deficient Security Provision
Article I. Purpose
Article XXV. Non-Discrimination
Article XLIX. Safety of Staff
Dear Ms. Davis:
CWA Local 1081 submits this Step II Contractual Grievance on behalf of our member Family Service Worker Charisma Jackson to protest the physical assault she suffered at the hands of a female client on Tuesday, October 11, 2011 within the Food Stamp Citizen Services Center. ASFS Linda Bass did not respond to our Union's attached Step I Contractual Grievance of October 12, 2011 submitted in this exact respect.
The Sheriff's Officers responding to the incident did arrest the client and charge her with assault and the client has been placed upon the office's security list and reassigned to another Family Service Worker. Sister Jackson was treated by an Emergency Medical Technician and the County's physician.
However, the resolution CWA Local 1081 respectfully reiterates to this grievance consists of the County Administration ensuring that the Sheriff's Officers and Guards patrol the inner office areas as well as the hallways so as to maintain and reinforce their presence in attempt to avoid such unfortunate episodes prospectively.
Sincerely,
David H. Weiner, President
CWA Local 1081
