Re: Step II Class Action Contractual Grievance

       Insufficient Number of MPCSC Clerks

       Article I. Purpose

       Article VII. Discipline

       Article XXV. Non-Discrimination

Article XXX. Work Distribution and Practices

Article XLII. Extent of County Liability

       Article XLIX. Safety of Staff

Dear Mr. Nigro:

CWA Local 1081 submits this Step II Contractual Grievance on behalf of all of our Union’s Clerk members whom have been assigned to the Military Park Citizen Services Center in order to protest their ominously deficient numbers. This myopic managerial mandate has resulted in undue stress upon our Union’s adversely affected Clerk members, has caused an onerous backlog of cases needed to be completed by the unit clerks, has adversely affected our Union’s Family Service Worker members whose clients’ cases are not being processed in a timely fashion and has denied those clients their legally legitimate timely receipt of benefits.

Attached, please note several photographs CWA Local 1081 took yesterday of the sordid storage situation of clients’ cases awaiting completion as they have been senselessly strewn hither and thither throughout he office resulting in safety hazards for our agency’s employees and clients alike.

The resolution CWA Local 1081 demands to this grievance is for a requisite number of Clerk employees to be hired and assigned to the Military Park office, with an appropriate number of clerks assigned expressly to person the office’s reception booth so that the unit clerks may complete their assigned duties sans being asininely alternated to cover the reception booth.

We seek a hearing, in this regard.

Sincerely,

David H. Weiner, President
