Re: OPRA Request: Federal Stimulus Funds

Dear Mr. Weiner,

Please be advised that the County of Essex has begun a series of meetings with the Department of Community Affairs and affected departments within the County (Economic Development, Department of Parks, Public Works, Citizen Services) to identify funds that they will be eligible for and the application process to secure such funds. As of this writing, the amounts available, and to be applied for, have not been determined. Please check back within a few weeks to see if any records fitting the above mentioned subject matter have been created (i.e. funds have been allocated; applications have been submitted).

Should you have any questions, please feel free to call the telephone number listed below.

Yours truly,

Al Fusco, OPRA Officer
Office of the County Administrator

Dear Mr. DiVincenzo:

As you are aware, on February 17, 2009, President Obama signed into law the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. As per the attached OPRA (Open Public Records Act) request of this date, CWA Local 1081 is respectfully requesting from the County of Essex the following information:

1. Copies of all documents delineating the total, and specifically designated, amounts of funds the County of Essex will receive as its allotment from the funds New Jersey is expected to receive of approximately $10 billion overall from the stimulus plan, including an additional $7.5 billion in tax relief for residents.
2. Copies of all documents delineating the total, and specifically dedicated, amounts of funds the County of Essex will expend from its allotment from the funds New Jersey is expected to receive of the approximately $10 billion overall from the massive stimulus plan, including an additional $7.5 billion in tax relief for residents.

Sincerely,

David H. Weiner, President
