SUBJECT: 50 South Clinton Street Security Apparatus
CWA Local 1081 is proud to announce the fact that the security apparatus our Union has long fought to convince the County to install and utilize at the client entrance of the County-owned 50 South Clinton Street, East Orange site is operational, effective today. Operated by Essex County Sheriff’s officers, the magnetometer and e-ray machine will provide our members and their clients alike a degree of security and sense of well being they all richly deserve. Of course, other County employees who are not members of our Union who assigned to the site, and their clients, will benefit from this security provision as well.
CWA Local 1081 requests our members assigned to the Food Stamps Citizen Services Center, as well as those members with cause to visit the 50 South Clinton Street facility, to be scrupulous about wearing their agency-issued ID cards to work every day. Those who fail to wear their ID when entering the site will be required to pass through the security apparatus as part of precautionary protocols.
Our Union thanks Essex County Executive Joseph DiVincenzo and his Chief of Staff Phil Alagia, Sheriff Armando Fontoura, Essex County Department Director Anibal Ramos and Essex County Division of Welfare Director Bruce Nigro and his Chief of Administrative Services Marc Pilchman for their invaluable assistance in ensuring the security apparatus has now been fully deployed.
CWA Local 1081 is proud of our efforts that have resulted in all of our members, and their clients, in all three buildings to which our members are assigned being provided the high-quality security now in place within each site.
