Step II Class Action Contractual Grievance
Untenable File Cabinets

Dear Mr. Nigro:

CWA Local 1081 submits this Step II Contractual Grievance, on behalf of our Clerical members assigned to all of the offices within the agency that work in the respective offices' record rooms where there exist file cabinets in such deplorable condition that they are both unsightly, unwieldy and pose and have proved a physical hazard.

Attached and below, please find photographs of such file cabinets I took this morning within the Downtown office's record room which caused cuts to the legs of two of our Clerical members assigned there.

Having spoken with Chief of Administrative Services Marc Pilchman this morning in this regard, our Union appreciates his empathy for our affected members and the short-term remedial efforts he described of taking file cabinets from the 6th floor office that shall soon be emptied and utilize those cabinets to replace the more egregious conditioned ones located within the other offices.

The resolution we respectfully demand to this grievance is for the utilization of the sixth floor cabinets to be expedited and for the County to dedicate sufficient capital funds within its next year's budget to purchase new file cabinets.

Sincerely,

David H. Weiner, President
CWA Local 1081
