Re: Step II Class Action Contractual Grievance
Incorrect & Omitted Pay Increases
Article I. Purpose
Article XIII. Salaries and Compensation
Article XVI. Pay Practices
Article XXV: Non-Discrimination

Dear Mr. Nigro:

CWA Local 1081 submits this Step II Class Action Contractual Grievance, on behalf of members of our Union adversely affected, to protest the fact the County of Essex committed numerous errors computing and implementing the most recent pay increases attributable to either an increment or a one-half step salary raise. As per the attached memorandum of April 22, 2008, composed by AASFS Betty Harp and written Senior Personnel Technician Joanne McGuire, the salaries of a total of thirteen (13) employees assigned to the Office of Medicaid Services were apparently so detrimentally determined.

The resolution CWA Local 1081 respectfully demands to this grievance consists of the following:

The County shall recalculate the pay increases made this year, or that should have been made, for all of the members of CWA Local 1081.
Where it is found that errors were made regarding the initial calculation of the pay increases for any members of CWA Local 1081, the County shall make all impacted monetarily whole and inform our Union of any such developments.

Sincerely,

David H. Weiner, President, CWA Local 1081
