Step II Contractual Grievance
50 So. Clinton Street Lot Debris
Article I. Purpose
Article XLIX. Safety of Staff

Dear Mr. Nigro:

CWA Local 1081 submits this Step II Contractual Grievance on behalf of our members assigned to park their personal vehicles within the County-owned lot, located contiguously to the County-owned building located at 50 South Clinton Street, East Orange, due to the inordinate amount of dangerous metal debris existing upon the surface of the lot in the guise of nuts, bolts, screws and rods as depicted in the attached photograph I took of such debris yesterday while visiting the site for a WIB meeting. This debris represents an obvious danger to the tires of our members' personal vehicles who park within that lot as well as to their feet and legs.

The resolution CWA Local 1081 respectfully demands to resolve this grievance consists of the following:

The County shall investigate this matter and detect the source(s) of the inordinate amount of metal debris lingering within the lot and have the source stemmed. The County shall sweep the lot, more often and more effectively, in order to rid it of this debris.

Sincerely,

David H. Weiner, President, CWA Local 1081
