FROM:       David H. Weiner, President

DATE:        October 1, 2010

SUBJECT: Contract(s) Signing Ceremony

At noon today, in the office of Essex County Executive Joseph DiVincenzo at the Hall of Records, took place the signing ceremony for CWA Local 1081’s new contract(s) agreements with the County of Essex.

Those in attendance included Joe D, members of the CWA Local 1081 Joint Negotiations Committee, Freeholder Vice President Ralph Caputo, Chief of Staff Phil Alagia, Deputy Chief of Staff William Payne, Treasurer Paul Hopkins, Assistant County Counsel Dolores Capetola and sundry other Administrative personnel. . The contract(s) next go to the Freeholder Board for their approval at their public meeting to be held on Wednesday, October 21, 2010 at 7:00 pm in the Hall of Records.

The event was filmed by NJN News for what our Union assumes will be inclusion within their news broadcasts this evening at 6:00 pm and 11:00 pm. Also covering the ceremony was reporter Phil Read from the Star Ledger for publication, we assume, in tomorrow’s paper. Joe D has agreed to be our guest, for the fourth time, on CWA Local 1081’s cable TV show Labor’s View to be taped on October 8, 2010 in his office to be aired on Comcast, Newark Cablevision and on our Union’s web site at http://www.cwa1081.com/.

CWA Local 1081 thanks the members of our Union for their support and encouragement throughout this strenuous, and often contentious, nearly three year process. With your continued support our Union will soon negotiate our next contract(s) in order to obtain, and maintain, the best quality of life for you as possible.
